Welcome to Breezehome Bungalow!
I’ve been wanting to start this blog since last June, I just couldn’t seem to find the time. With the new year, I’ve decided to just go for it even if things aren’t perfect (note the non-layout). I hope to make this blog an outlet for all my home-related projects: decorating, design, sewing, crafting, etc.
For now, let’s just talk about the site name: Breezehome Bungalow. My dream house is a Craftsman style bungalow. Unfortunately, our home is not a bungalow and it’s not likely we’ll be purchasing one in our town any time soon (there are only 3 or 4, and they’re out of our price range). The good news is we live in a new home with absoutely NO architectural interest and a basic Craftsman shape, so it will be really easy to upgrade with Craftsman style details. In fact, with only a few modifications, our home could look like this:
Seriously, this looks so much like our place, it gives me hope. As for the Breezehome part: people who have played Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim already know what’s up. For those not in the know, it’s a house you can buy in the game. It’s not the most impressive place, but it’s cozy and gets the job done. Most importantly, it’s in an extremely convenient location, so even when you buy the mansions later on in the game you still head back to Breezehome quite a bit. Our home is similar to the home in the game, it’s not huge but it’s cozy and fits us well. Also, it’s in a great town and our family is thriving here. Thus, Breezehome Bungalow!
Hey, I just found a photo of our place, so let’s go ahead and post it:
See, it could totally look like the nice bungalow above! Oh, I should take this opportunity to note that we live in a duplex/twin/semi-detached home, so half is ours and the other half is our neighbors’. We live on the left side in this photo. Hopefully I’ll take a better photo soon so you can really see some of the non-features of the exterior.
We’ll end this post for now and see if I can do another one this week. Thanks for reading!
